Direct drive permanent magnet wind turbines, proven in harsh environments, based upon a Dutch design heritage provide a sustainable basis for your powerplant
Creating sustainable employment at national and regional levels is growing more and more important for the capital goods industry in general.
Darwind has a constant focus on innovation and improvements for its turbine designs. This work is supported by the Dutch government through the programs EWOS and FLOW.
XEMC Darwind BV, established in 2009, is a Dutch turbine supplier in the multi megawatt class of wind turbines. XEMC Darwind BV operates from their premises in Hilversum, The Netherlands.
For the onshore market, we have 3 platforms available, all of them based on the permanent magnet, direct drive technology:
For the offshore market, we have a solution available in the 5MW XD115 platform.

11/5/2013Article written by Eize de Vries in Renewable Energy World about Darwind's refocus on onshore wind with 4,5- and 5MW direct drive turbines.
7/14/2013On July 14th 2013 XEMC Darwind received the Provisional Type Certificate for the XEMC XD115-5MW wind turbine. The conformity testing and certification has been carried out according to IEC 61400-22: 2010 “Wind Turbines – part 22: conformity testing and certification”.
Darwind's offshore dedicated 5MW direct drive wind turbine with a rotor diameter of 115m.
With the 93m rotor and 2MW nominal output the XE93 is Darwind's choice for medium windspeed locations
XD115 4,5MW Direct drive windturbine
The XD115 is ideal for high wind speed locations. Its sealed design makes it optimal for near shore locations.
